Request for Clarifications Regarding the Board Composition and Current Building Management
Dear Ms. Wright and Members of the Board,
In response to your message of August 14, 2025 regarding the composition of the Board of Directors, I am requesting clarifications on several issues that are of great importance to all unit owners:
- Treasurer Andres Sleifka
According to your official record, the position of Treasurer is held by Andres Sleifka. To my knowledge, he permanently resides and works in Argentina, is not a U.S. citizen, and does not hold a green card. In our building, he owns only one unit as an investment property. Please clarify:- On what basis is he signing the Association’s financial documents and invoices while residing outside the United States?
- How is oversight of expenses and the work of the property management company ensured in his physical absence, especially given the significant financial deficit?
- Board Composition
The current Board includes the Chairperson, who previously served as a Board member during David’s leadership, when, according to available records, the building was brought to a critical financial condition. How is this prior experience being taken into account today to prevent a repeat of past mistakes? - Concerns Regarding the Change of Treasurer
I would like to note that, as an owner, I have concerns that the change of Treasurer may be related to the upcoming elections, and that during this time the Board may approve significant expenditures. I emphasize that this is my personal opinion and assumption based on my observations. I am concerned that, in the remaining months before the elections, there may be an increase in spending of Association funds, including on invoices and services which, in my opinion, may not be of primary necessity. Please clarify what measures will be taken to ensure the economical and targeted use of funds. - Current Issues
The building continues to face serious and numerous problems: roof leaks, malfunctioning corridor air conditioning, lack of lighting near elevators, the need to replace the chiller, a large financial deficit, unclear payments, inflated salaries, and an excessive number of staff.
I request clear and written answers to each of the points listed above, as well as a plan of action to resolve these issues and ensure transparency in the Association’s financial activities.
